I'm a Mum, and an artist. I've loved drawing, and making things with clay and paper and a needle and thread since I was a child. I love to research, My biggest inspiration is the place I come from, Manchester. There's always something going on in the city but I live on the outskirts where it's green and quiet. I like to reflect it's people and ways in my work, or an aspect of how I respond to bigger worldly issues as a woman brought up here. I love to laugh, I illustrate weekly for Standard Issue UK, which was co-founded by Sarah Millican (a very nice boss) and love social media. I have just set up a lovely web site to how off my finished pieces, but this blog is a window onto my processes and thoughts as I start a practice with the support of my classmates and tutors at the Manchester College.
